New Ford Puma 2021
ford now has a small SUV to rival that of its competitors Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota it’s called the ford puma and if looks or anything to go by it’s definitely keeping up with its rivals we got stopped.
it’s a cool looking car that’s a little bit edgy much like the rest of this category kind of looks like it was modeled on a mini Tonka truck you can get it either in the two-tone paint or
one color which does water down the design a bit if that’s what you’re after inside because this is the base model you will find fabric seats that are quite smooth and comfortable
there are a leather steering wheel and leather gear stick.
and the center console is quite well designed with some high gloss accents that really lifts the design you’ll find two cup holders in the front plus a really deep spot here for keys and a phone that’s also got a wireless charger there is a quite small but deep center storage bin and there are bottle holders in each door the multimedia screen is a good eight inches and it’s got apple car play and android auto connectivity which is just what you want out of your car tech these days there’s no easier way to immediately sync with the main apps on your phone
and control them via the touchscreen space-wise for a little SUV there’s actually quite a decent amount of space even for taller people there’s enough legroom and headroom and we didn’t feel cramped between the driver and front passenger at all this week the back seat has enough room for my two children aged seven and nine and I feel like the back here
is exactly the right size for them it’s not too big it’s not too little for me I’m 161 centimeters and I can fit comfortably back here but I think uh taller people will have issues if you’re sitting back here for a long period of time shorter journeys should be fine and for kids it’s fine there are no cupholders back here and you won’t find any directional air vents either but that’s pretty standard across the small SUV category.
the boot is 410 liters which is quite generous for a small SUV plus it has extra space under the floor for stuff you need to hide you’ll be able to get a prime in here you’ll be able to fit a suitcase in here and I could load loads of boxes in there as well pretty good for a small SUV
driving is decent enough in the ford puma there is a one-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine and that’s enough to get you around suburbia perfectly fine I know another of my car’s guide colleagues actually experienced lurches with this car but I haven’t experienced that myself
it’s never going to win any drag races but it does get up hills perfectly fine and it’s pretty cruisy on highways too it’s also quite nimble in traffic and the steering is
easy to turn fuel consumption is acclaimed 5.3 liters per 100ks and I did an average of 5.8 liters driving around Sydney this week for safety.
there is some advanced safety that comes as standard and then some that you can choose to option in if you like at an extra cost, so for standard, you’ll get airbags for driver and front passenger plus side curtain airbags that extend to the back row, and as far as advanced safety is concerned you will get auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane keep assist and warning the forward puma is a very cute very small
SUV that did the job with my family and I this week
I wasn’t expecting us to be so comfortable in the car but we were and I also had to do a very large fruit and veggie shop and was surprised the puma was able to handle that too it’s slightly lacking in safety compared to some other competitors
but it does look good on the road I gave it a family rating of 7.7 out of 10 and my kids gave it a 7.5
