The Nissan Magnite is actually a good car and its base variant costs less than the Korean siblings. But the problem with the Nissan’s product is its after sale service and parts availability. Here both of Nissan’s competitors excels.

ENGINE:

The Nissan Magnite is available in 1 engine with 2 different tuning. The Nissan Magnite is powered by a 999 cc, Inline-3 Cylinders, DOHC, Petrol engine. This engine is available in Naturally Aspirated and Turbo Charged tuning. The NA engine churns out 71 bhp of power and 96 Nm of torque and the Turbo Charged unit puts out 99 bhp of power and 160 Nm of torque while the transmission duty is carried by 5-Speed manual and CVT gearboxes.

The KIA Sonet is available in 3 different engine options which includes 1493 cc, inline-4 cylinder, DOHC, Turbo Charged Diesel engine which puts out 99 bhp of power and 240 Nm of torque. This motor is equipped with a 6-speed manual and 6-Speed Torque Converter gearbox options.

The KIA Sonet is also available with 1197 cc, Inline-4 cylinders, DOHC Petrol engine which puts out 82 bhp of power and 115 Nm of torque. This engine is equipped with a sole 5 speed manual gearbox and there is no Automatic transmission is on offer even as an option.

The other engine is the most powerful 998 cc T-GDI, Inline-3 cylinders, DOHC, Turbo Charged petrol unit. This engine produces 118 bhp of power and 172 Nm of torque. This engine is not available in manual transmission. You can opt for either 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) or 6-Speed iMT gearbox which is also known as intelligent Manual Transmission where you can enjoy the pleasure of Manual Gearbox without a clutch! If you want quick up and down shifts then you can opt for the DCT gearbox as there is a slight delay with shifts on the iMT gearbox.

The Hyundai Venue comes with the similar engines with similar tuning as the KIA Sonet. Both the cars have exactly the same engine with similar power outputs. For reference please refer to the KIA Sonet’s engine options.

So to put it in short, the Hyundai Venue with the Turbo Petrol engine is the one to go with if you are out there in search of a drivers delight car. But it doesn’t mean that Hyundai has excellent dynamics, there are some under-steering on the Hyundai Venue too. But in this comparison Venue is the winner in terms of driving pleasure.

FEATURES:

The Nissan Magnite comes with some segment first features but misses out on certain features which are common in this segment. The Hyundai Venue also gets plethora of features and premium interior too. But the KIA Sonet is the most luxurious and feature loaded car in this segment. So the Nissan Magnite is the most value for ,money product in this comparison as it gives excellent value for just 11 lakhs which is the top end of this car. And the Korean siblings might have slightly more features than the Nissan Magnite but these costs way more than the Nissan Magnite. The top end of the KIA Sonet is available for 16.10 Lakh rupees and the top end Hyundai Venue is available for 14.52 Lakhs On-Road Bangalore.

But the top end Nissan Magnite is available for just 11.31 Lakhs and the base model is available for just 6.02 Lakhs thus, it becomes best of both words. The Nissan Magnite is the combination of both power and features. If you don’t have problem with the servicing of the car and also want a feature loaded and a powerful car but have tight budget then you can go with the Nissan Magnite without any fear.
