Facts and Thoughts:-

Although speed is important, what is vital is a stable gun platform. (watch how many of these tanks are firing from a stopped position or traveling slowly). You can watch as many videos of tanks flying through the air but the crew inside have to take the punishment of 60 tons landing. The crew needs to be in a fit state to fight, not something that is likely to happen with “Hollywood” style driving. The 1st tank battle took place in September 1916. (Not 2 centuries ago) Its role was to support the infantry, it has the same role today. Tanks do not fight battles without infantry nearby. Therefore if they move too fast for the infantry to keep up they have to stop and wait for them.
