Engine of the Tata Safari BS6:
The 2021 Tata Safari comes with only one engine option which also powers the Harrier. So the SUV is powered by a 1956 cc, Inline-4 cylinder, DOHC, Kryotec, BS6, Turbocharged, Diesel engine which puts out 168 bhp of max power @3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @1,750 rpm. The power goes to the front wheels (FWD) through 6 speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Dimension and Chassis:
The 2021 Tata Safari weighs 1825 kgs. The SUV has 4661 mm length, 1894 mm width, 1786 mm height, 2741 mm wheelbase and 205 mm ground clearance. The SUV is underpinned by a body-on-frame chassis and shares its platform with JLR D8 (OmegaArc) with which the Tata harrier is built on. The fuel tank capacity is 50 litres and the SUV has a boot space of 447 litres.
Suspension, Wheels and Brakes of the Tata Safari BS6:
The front suspension duty is done by Independent, Lower Wishbone, McPherson Strut suspension with coil spring and anti roll bar while the rear suspension duty is done by Semi independent twist blade suspension with Panhard rod Coil Spring. The SUV is equipped with disc brakes at both front and rear and the wheels are alloys which are equipped with a 235/60 section radial tyres. The wheel size of both front and rear is 18 inches.
The top of the line trim XZA Plus Adventure is loaded with so many features. It sports Android Auto, Apple Car Play, Integrated Music System, 6+ Speakers, USB, AUX, Bluetooth, MP3, FM/AM, iPod compatibility, Steering Mounted Controls and Voice Command.
The instrument cluster on the Tata Safari BS6 is of semi digital one. It sports 2 trip meters, average fuel consumption, average speed, a digital clock, instantaneous consumption, a digital tachometer, gear shift indicator, gear position indicator, cluster brightness adjustment, door ajar warning, low fuel level warning and distance to empty.
The lighting duty is done by LED DRLs, Halogen Fog Lights, Multi-Color ambient interior lighting, Bi-Xenon Projector headlights, Automatic headlamps, Follow me home headlamps, LED tail lights, front and rear cabin lamps, headlight height adjustment and cornering headlights.
The SUV is loaded with a full panoramic sunroof, roof mounted antenna, body colored bumpers, body cladding, front and rear power windows, electrically adjustable ORVM with turn indicators on them, rear defogger, rear wiper, rain sensing wiper and electric tail gate.
The driver seat gets 6 way electrically adjustable while the front passenger seat gets 6 way manual, rear row gets 4 way manual and the last third row gets 2 way manually adjustable seats. The seats gets leather upholstery along with steering wheel and gear knob with leather on them. The rear seats are 60:40 foldable while the third row seats are 50:50 split foldable. The 2021 Tata Safari now gets connected car tech which offers Over The Air (OTA) updates, you can check the vehicle status via app, remote lock/unlock via app, find my car, remote car honking & light flashing via app and Geo-Fence.
The SUV gets Automatic dual zone Air Conditioner where front AC is of single zone, rear AC has blower and vents on pillars and the last third seat has separate zone AC with vents on pillars and fan speed controls. The SUV also sports a heater, electrically adjustable internal anti-glare mirror, park assist which comes with reverse parking along with guidelines, parking sensors, cruise control, headlight & ignition on reminder, push button start, tilt & telescopic steering adjustment and 12V power outlets.
The 2021 Tata Safari is very safe car in terms of both safety features and built quality.
