So, for all the Mahindra Thar fans out there, the all new 2020 BS6 Mahindra Thar has got finally unveiled today at 11 pm on YouTube by following all the guidelines of COVID-19. The all-new Mahindra Thar has got plenty of modern features with on-point safety aids. The all-new Mahindra Thar looks fantastic which resembles to the Armada and other legendary products from the company. So, the car is available with 6 colours which includes, red rage, mystic copper, galaxy grey, napoli black, rocky beige and aquamarine.

So, the Thar also has very powerful 2 engine options, the gasoline and the diesel. The 2.0-L, mStallion TGDI petrol unit produces 150 bhp (112 kW) of power and 320 nm of peak torque, and the mHAWK diesel motor produces 130 bhp (97 kW) of power and 300 nm of torque. The car is available in both manual and automatic transmissions. The manual comes with 6-speed gearbox and the automatic comes with the 6-speed torque converter gearbox. The all-new Thar is balanced with the 3rd gen body on frame chassis.

The all-new Mahindra Thar has independent front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Thar also comes with brake locking differentials for both front axles, mechanical locking differential for rear axle, standard 4*4 across all the variants and the wider 255/65-R18 all-terrain tyres. The all-new Mahindra Thar has 650 mm of water wading capacity, 37 degree departure, 42 degree approach angle, 27 degree rampover angle and 226 mm of ground clearance (unladen).

The all-new Mahindra Thar 2020 also has an excellent interior design, front seats with height and lumbar adjustment and front facing adjustable rear seats with 50:50 split are the prominent and very useful features. Roof mounted speakers, a 7’inch touch screen display, first in class adventure stats with customisable gauges are also some of those features which comes with the new car. You can see how much power is going to the all four wheels in real time.

The all-new Mahindra Thar also gets a multi-coloured TFT display in the instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with roll-over mitigation and hill hold & hill descent control. Built-in roll cage with 3-point seat-belts and ISOFIX child seat mounts on rear seats are also some of the excellent features which the all-new Mahindra Thar offers.

The car is available in 2 series’s, AX and the LX. AX is for all the adventure freaks out there. And LX is for all of those who are in search of a Lifestyle SUV. The AX variant gets fixed soft top, 6-seater (2 front and 4 side faced), R16 white steel wheels, steel footsteps, mechanical locking differential, power steering with power windows, central locking and rear park assist. The AX variant gets both diesel and petrol engine options with only automatic transmission. The AX variant gets either soft top or hard top with remote keyless entry (with hardtop) and height adjustable driver seat as an option.

The LX variant gets all the features we mentioned at the beginning of this article. These includes, convertible or hard top, 4-seater, dual tone bumpers, molded footsteps, R-18 alloy wheels with 255/65 wide tyres, LED DRL’s with front fog lamps, height and lumbar adjustments for front seats, premium fabric upholstery, tyretronic and tyre direction monitoring system, electronic HVAC switches, electronic stability programme and brake locking differential. The LX variant is available in diesel manual & automatic transmission and petrol with only automatic transmission.
