Bajaj has launched the 180 Pulsar naked in Indian market. The motorcycle gets same engine as the Bajaj Pulsar 180 F BS6. More over, the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 produces 0.1 bhp more, costs 10,000 rupees less and weighs 5 kgs less than its faired sibling. That’s a win win situation for the naked beauty. The Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 derives its design language from the iconic Pulsar series where it shares the aesthetic appeal with the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125.
Engine of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6:
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 gets the engine from its faired sibling. So the motorcycle is powered by a 178.6 cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, fuel injected, DOHC, gasoline motor which puts out 16.7 bhp of max power @8,500 rpm and 14.52 Nm of max torque @6,500 rpm. The power goes to the rear wheel via 5-speed manual transmission.
This 178.6 cc engine has 63.5 mm bore, 56.4 mm stroke and there are 2 spark plugs to ignite the fuel (Digital Twin Spark Plug Ignition). The motorcycle runs through chain drive system and the clutch type is wet multiplate one. The fuel tank capacity is 15 litres which is good and the reserve fuel capacity is 3.2 litres.
Brakes, Wheels and Suspension of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6:
The motorcycle gets 280 mm single front and 230 mm single rear disc brakes which is same as the Pulsar 180F. The motorcycle gets 17 inch front and rear wheels which are equipped with a 90/90 section front and 120/80 section rear tyres where both are tubeless non radial tyres mated with the alloy wheels. The suspension duty is done by a telescopic front suspension with anti friction bush and 5 way adjustable nitrox shock absorber at rear.
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 weighs 151 kgs which lighter than the Pulsar 180F and heavier than the TVS Apache RTR 180 2V. The motorcycle has 2,035 mm length, 765 mm width (10 mm more than the 180F), 1115 mm height (50 mm less than the 180F), 1345 mm wheelbase (5 mm less than the 180F) and 165 mm ground clearance while the motorcycle is underpinned by a double cradle frame chassis.

The Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 is not a feature loaded machine like most of the Pulsar series bikes. So the bike gets a digital odometer, DLRs, single channel ABS, Automatic Headlight On (AHO), side stand alarm, 2 digital trip meters, low fuel and battery indicators, digital fuel gauge, gear shift light and engine kill switch.
The motorcycle is available in only one color as of now which is Black Red combination. And the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Naked BS6 is priced at 1,29,828 rupees On-Road Bangalore which is 7,000 rupees cheaper than its nearest competitor, the TVS Apache RTR 180 2V.
