BMW motorrad India has launched its 2 new classic cruiser motorcycles in India. The BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler. Both looks almost similar but with some differences. Engine of the BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler:
The BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler shares a 1170 cc, twin cylinder, air/oil cooled, fuel injected, DOHC, gasoline boxer engine which churns out 107.2 bhp of maximum power @7250 rpm and 116 Nm of torque @6000 rpm while this power goes the rear wheel of the motorcycle via 6-speed manual transmission. The bore is 101 mm, stroke is 73 mm, compression ratio is 12.0:1, fuel tank capacity is 18 litres and the reserve fuel capacity is 3 litres in R nine T standard and 3.5 litres in R nine T Scrambler. The motorcycle can go upto 200 kmph of top speed which is claimed by the company itself.
Brakes, Wheels and Suspension:
Both BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler gets 320 mm 4-piston caliper, dual disc at front and 265 mm dual piston caliper, single disc at rear. The R nine T Standard gets 120/70 section 17 inch radial tubeless spoke wheel at front and 180/55 section 17 inch radial tubeless spoke wheel at rear while the Scrambler brother gets 120/70 section 19 inch tubeless radial alloy wheel at front and 170/60 section tubeless radial alloy wheel at rear.
The suspension duty is done by USD telescopic fork at front and cast aluminum suspension with single sided swing arm and BMW Motorrad Paralever while the R nine T Scrambler gets a 43 mm telescopic fork at front the rear suspension is same as the R nine T Standard.
Dimension and Chassis of the BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler:
BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler weighs 221 kgs and 223 kgs respectively. The R nine T Standard has 2105 mm length while the Scrambler version has 2175 mm length, both have 865 mm width, the R nine T has 1240 mm height while the Scrambler has 1330 mm height, the R nine T has 1487 mm wheelbase and the R nine T Scrambler has 1527 mm wheelbase and the R nine T standard has 805 mm seat height while the Scrambler has 820 mm seat height. The R nine T Standard is underpinned by a four-section frame while the scrambler is underpinned by a three-section frame.

Both BMW R nine T Standard and R nine T Scrambler gets a digital odometer, DRLs, mobile app connectivity, GPS & Navigation, dual channel ABS, USB charging port and Automatic Headlight On (AHO). The R nine T standard gets a analog tachometer while the Scrambler version do not. Both gets side stand alarm, 2 digital trip meters, low fuel indicator, low oil indicator, low oil indicator, gear shift light, a digital clock, LED hedlight, LED taillight, LED turn signals and 2 riding modes (rain and road).
