In this Post I will Give you Information About – Honda CB650R vs Triumph Trident 660 Bike, So as some of you will know last week I was in Tenerife for the press launch of triumph’s brand new middleweight roadster the trident 660. I had lots of comments in that Post asking how it compares to the competition but more specifically how it compares to my honda cb650r so in this article we’ll take a quick look at the specs of both bikes and I’ll tell you a little bit about the new triumph trident versus the honda cb650rof course when the trident is released here in the UK I’ll be doing a full head-to-head Images, so make sure you subscribe to my Website or Sign up so that you don’t miss out to start things off.
Honda CB650R vs Triumph Trident 660
let’s talk about the engines on these two bikes the honda CB650R has a 649cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine which makes 94 horsepower at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque figure of 64 newton-meters which is made at eight and a half thousand rpm the trident of course has an in-line triple engine with a 660cc capacity which makes 80 horsepower at 10,250 rpm while it also makes 64-newton meters of torque but at 6,250 rpm as the specs suggest the honda makes both power and torque higher in the rev range but it also revs around 2,000 rpm higher than the triumph and the triumph has a flatter torque curve and makes 90 percent of torque across most of the rev range whereas the honda does have a bit of a dip at around about 6000 rpm let’s also not forget though that the honda makes 14 horsepower more than a triumph the engines are both very fun though and ultimately it just depends on what engine characteristics you prefer a fairly torque-rich yet rather happy triple or a screaming inline-four.
Both bikes share very similar suspension setups which are Showa unadjustable 41 millimeters inverted SFF forks up front and a pre-load adjustable mono-shock at the rear however for 2021 the honda CB650R is getting a bit of an upgrade and will come with a big piston version of this fork, So we’ll see how the 2021 honda feels against the trident in the new year.
The honda comes with Nissin radial-mounted four-piston calipers while the trident has axial mounted two-piston sliding calipers they both have 310mm discs up front and come with abs as standard at the rear they both have a single piston knitting caliper but the honda has a 240-millimeter disc while the triumph comes with a larger 255-millimeter disc, the honda cb650r has a steel diamond frame and a wet weight of 202 kilograms the triumph trident also has a steel tubular type frame but it weighs in at 189 kilograms where seat height for the honda comes in at 810 millimeters while the trident sits at 805 millimeters on fuel tank size which is 15.4 liters for the honda CB650R and a smaller 40 meters for the triumph trident but both bikes are fairly economical
The honda cb650r comes with abs and honda selectable torque control which is honda’s fancy name for traction control it has an inverse LCD dash and led lights all around the triumph trident comes into its own in this category with abs riding modes ride by wire throttle and traction control the bike also comes with led lights and even self-canceling indicators.
The current price for the honda CB650R is 7199 pounds and there’s a choice of four standard colors there are also a host of extras available covering performance and design comfort luggage and also protection, the trident comes in a very reasonable 7195 pounds in the UK it comes with two standard colors and two premium colors which will bump the price up by another hundred quid.
So which is better well until I do a full head-to-head Post it’s hard to say but on paper at least the honda has the edge in performance while the triumph trident has the edge in handling and electronics at the end of the day though much of this comes down to personal preference as I feel the bikes are fairly evenly matched across the categories which one do you prefer the neo sports cafe screamer or the agile British brute and let me know in the comments what you think, How was our Article About the Topic Honda CB650R vs Triumph Trident 660 Bike Comparision and I’ll see you in the next Article.
