If you are out there in the market looking for a used Honda CBR 250 R, then this article will definitely help you to decide whether you should consider buying that machine or not. When the Honda CBR 250 R launched in India on 2011, the bike actually changed the whole market and created a new era of affordable single cylinder performance machines (just like the Yamaha R15 in the 150 cc category).

In fact, not a single owner were disappointed by that 250 cc power packed engine. And also it was one of those few bikes which offers great reliable engine. This was few of the reasons why it got that legendary tag. And now in 2020 also it performs like a gem. The first launched CBR was able to do over 165 kmph! Later when the BS4 CBR came out in the market it got little bit slower, but had even more smoother engine (we are not telling that the BS3 CBR didn’t had a smooth reliable engine).

Now, in 2020 the only direct competitor of this legendary machine is the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. If we compare the performance of both the bikes, Gixxer has good low end performance where as the CBR has unmatched top end performance. The CBR actually beats KTM Duke 250, Duke 200, Dominar 250, Bajaj RS 200, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in top end performance. If you want tour and looking for affordable used bike under 1 lakh, then we don’t think so any other bike can give you this much of power in this price point(we are talking about used bike market under 1 lakh).

So mechanically the Honda CBR 250 R is powered by a 249.6 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected, petrol engine, which puts out around 26 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 22.9 nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed manual transmission. The fuel tank capacity of this bike is 13 litres and retrurns around 35-37 kmpl of mileage or even more if you ride it sanely, and the top speed is around 160+ kmph.

The bike gets 296 mm disc at front and 220 mm disc at rear. It gets 17 inch wheels at both front and rear. The front tyre size is 110/70-17 and rear tyre size is 140/70-17. Both are alloy tubeless tyres which offers amazing grip and inspires a ton of confidence around the corner. The bike gets telescopic forks at front and pro-link mono shock suspension at rear.

The Honda CBR 250 R is a lightweight motorcycle weighing just 167 kg. The ground clearance is just adequate at 145 mm and the 784 mm seat height is perfect most of the Indian riders. So, the verdict is, if you want an amzing bike with so much of power which you can use in highways, then this is the perfect bike for you guys. Even college going students can also get this bike and showoff!
