The Japanese manufacturer Yamaha is planning to launch a new adventure bike in Indian market with the new of FZ. We expect that the new upcoming Yamaha FZ-X will be the adventure bike based on the Yamaha FZ-25. The new bike will is likely to get engine from its 250 cc sibling with different suspension and wheel configuration. The new Yamaha FZ-X will compete with the likes of upcoming Suzuki V-Storm 250, some faired and naked bikes in this price segment like the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 etc..
The current Yamaha FZ-25 is powered by a 249 cc, 4-Stroke, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled, Fuel Injected, BS6 motor which puts out 20.51 bhp of power @ 8,000 rpm and 20.1 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. This motor is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The bike gets 282 mm, 220 mm dual discs at front rear respectively.
A 100/80-17 section tyre at front and 140/70-17 section tyre at rear does the braking duty effectively on the bike. These are non radial tubeless tyres. And suspension wise the bike gets Telescopic fork at front and 7-step adjustable monoshock at rear.
The bike weighs just 153 kg with the dimension of 2,015 mm length, 775 mm width, 1,075 mm height, 1,360 mm wheelbase, 160 mm ground clearance and 795 mm seat height. The BS6 Yamaha FZ-25 is underpinned by Diamond frame chassis.
The bike gets a digital odometer, LED DRLs, Dual channel ABS, Automatic Headlight On (AHO), a digital speedometer, fuel gauge, digital tachometer, side stand alarm, 2 trip meters, low fuel & oil indicator, shift light, engine kill switch and a digital clock.
The Yamaha FZ-25 costs 1,94,352 – 2,00,469 On-Road Mangalore. The bike is available in 5 different colors which includes, Metallic Black, Racing Blue, Patina Green, White-Ver Million and Dark Matte Blue.
