Engine of the Yamaha MT-15 BS6:
The Yamaha MT-15 BS6 shares its engine with the most popular Yamaha R15 V3. But the motorcycle has slightly lower power than its aggressive sibling! But its very minor change. SO the Yamaha MT-15 BS6 is powered by a 155 cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected, DOHC, gasoline motor which puts out 18.2 bhp of power @10,000 rpm and 13.9 Nm of torque @8,500 rpm. The power goes to wheel via 6 speed manual transmission while the fuel tank capacity is 10 Litres.
The motorcycle runs by chain drive and the clutch type is wet multiple one. There are 4 valves per cylinder (DOHC unit) and there is 1 spark plug per cylinder to ignite the fuel. The ignition type is Transistor Controlled Ignition and this engine has 58 mm bore and 58.7 mm stroke.
Brakes, Wheels and Suspension:
The braking duty is done by a 282 mm single disc at front and 220 mm single disc at rear. The motorcycle gives stupendous grip around the corners thanks to its 100/80, 140/70 section tyres at front and rear while these tyres are equipped with a 17 inch wheels at both front and rear. Both are tubeless tyres while only the rear tyre is of radial one and the wheels are alloys. The suspension duty is done by a Telescopic fork at front and Linked-Type monoshock suspension at rear. The monoshock suspension is better than the standard dual shock absorbers as it is placed right below the motorcycle’s centre of gravity thus improve the concentration of mass.
